Concord Museum

Concord, Massachusetts

Amaze Design worked closely with the Concord Museum curation team to complete a three-phase comprehensive redesign, fabrication, and installation of the Museum’s new permanent exhibits.

The mission of the redesign was to relay Concord’s history to a 21st-century audience. The Museum still tells the familiar stories of Concord—of early Colonial settlers, the Minutemen, and the Transcendentalists. But redesigned and side-by-side with stories of Native Americans, African Americans, and women. All had critical roles in shaping Concord’s history.

The new exhibits were designed to emphasize the museum’s spectacular historical collection. From ancient stone tools used by the region’s indigenous peoples to one of the lanterns that signaled to Paul Revere on his midnight ride in 1775 to Henry David Thoreau’s writing desk—the objects are the storytellers. Also integral to the new exhibits are the superb multimedia experiences Richard Lewis Media Group created. A highlight of the new April 19th Gallery—the minute-by-minute, multidimensional retelling of the night of April 19th and the “shot heard ’round the world”—is not to be missed!
