Kenai Fjords National Park

Seward, Alaska

A new permanent exhibit at Kenai Fjords National Park is complete—part of a significant upgrade to an existing visitor center in Seward, Alaska. Exhibits highlight the land, ecology, and human history of the Park, including the Harding ice field, tidewater glaciers, and fjords of this unique and rapidly changing landscape.

The exhibits feature a scenic recreation of Kenai’s rocky shore, a tidewater glacier mural with an underwater diorama, a full-size climbable orca fin, an interactive wall that traces a cross-section of the Park, and a life-size outdoor sculpture of a breaching Humpback whale. The exhibits also highlight the human history of the Kenai Peninsula, developed in cooperation with the Port Graham Corporation, an Alaska Native Corporation.

Amaze Design partnered with Southern Custom Exhibits to fulfill this $1M design-build contract. The team has completed all design phases following standard National Park Service exhibit specifications for interpretive planning and design.
