#IfThenSheCan – The Exhibit

Lyda Hill Philanthropies
Dallas — New York — Washington — Cambridge

The #IfThenSheCan Initiative is committed to empowering contemporary women innovators in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to inspire young girls to pursue careers in those fields. Rooted in a simple truth: seeing is believing. When a girl sees a woman successfully pursuing a STEM career (and having fun), she is more likely to imagine a STEM career for herself!

Amaze Design worked with staff from the project’s sponsor, Lyda Hill Philanthropies, to plan and design the exhibit as part of that larger initiative. In 2020–2021, smaller pop-up displays appeared at the Love Field Airport and NorthPark Center in Dallas and the Central Park Zoo in New York City. The full exhibit debuted at NorthPark Center in Dallas from May to October 2021.

In March 2022, the entire exhibit was on display, kicking off a month-long Women’s Futures Month festival at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC. All 120 statues were displayed in the Arts and Industries Building, the Smithsonian Castle, the Enid A. Haupt Garden, the National Air and Space Museum, and the National Natural History Museum. The statues appeared again at the Dallas Arboretum later in 2022.
