Davis Bayou Visitor Center

Gulf Islands National Seashore
Ocean Springs, Mississippi

Amaze Design worked closely with the National Park Service in planning their new Gulf Islands National Seashore Davis Bayou Visitor Center. The park offers visitors many recreational opportunities, including fishing, hiking, biking, bird-watching, picnicking, and many ranger-led programs.

The Center’s exhibits provide both new and returning visitors with a multi-layered interpretive experience about the park’s history, resources, and geography. Indoor exhibits cover such topics as lighthouses, island artifacts, fishing, and the ecological diversity of the five habitats found in the park, engaging visitors with a rich and unique story. Universal design, known as ‘inclusive design,’ ‘design-for-all,’ and ‘human-centered design,’ will guide the creation of an exhibit experience for visitors of all ages and abilities.
